The Soul of
Morocco.
Born in the medina. Built for the world.
Where It Started
MoroCan-Arts was founded in Fès — the oldest living medieval city in the world, and the beating heart of Moroccan artisanal culture. Not in an office. Not from a business school idea. From a direct observation: the workshops of Fès and Safi were producing some of the finest ceramics on earth, and almost nobody outside Morocco knew it.
The gap between what was being made and what was reaching European and American markets was staggering. Mass-produced imitations were filling shelves while the real thing sat in medina souks, invisible to the world. We decided to close that gap.
"The workshops of Fès have been refining the same techniques for over a thousand years. We are not the creators — we are the bridge."
We started with a simple premise: source directly, curate ruthlessly, and deliver with the same care and intention the craftsmen put into making the pieces. No intermediaries. No compromise on material purity. No mass-production logic.

How We Got Here
The Gap in the Market
Walking through the medinas of Fès, we saw master potters producing exceptional work — and tourists buying pale imitations elsewhere. The problem was distribution, not quality.
Direct from Fès & Safi
We established direct relationships with workshops in two of Morocco's most important ceramic cities. No middlemen. Negotiated directly with craftsmen — fair prices, consistent quality, full traceability.
B2B — Hotels & Restaurants
Our first clients were European hospitality businesses — hotels and restaurants in France. Supplying them proved the model: quality sells itself when it reaches the right audience.
Open to the World
After validating the B2B channel, we opened the archive to direct retail — Europe, the US, and beyond. The same standard we held for institutional clients now applies to every individual order.
Safi Clay, Atlas Tradition
Safi has been Morocco's ceramic capital for centuries. The clay here carries a mineral density and plasticity that produces walls of extraordinary thinness and strength. Our workshops have passed their methods down through generations — the same hands, the same wheels, the same kilns.
In Fès, the zellige and painted traditions dominate. Every brushstroke follows geometries that predate modern mathematics. We source from both cities because they represent two distinct souls of Moroccan pottery — and both deserve to be known.
The Baraka of Imperfection
In Moroccan craft culture, there is a concept called Baraka — a divine blessing carried in the work of skilled hands. A piece shaped by a master potter carries something a machine cannot replicate: the accumulated knowledge of a lifetime, expressed in a single gesture.
Every organic asymmetry in our pieces is intentional in the deepest sense. It is not a flaw — it is proof that a human being made this. We celebrate that, and we select for it in our curation process.
Uncompromising Purity
Traditional Moroccan ceramics have sometimes used lead-based glazes — a legacy of historical practice, not intent. We made a non-negotiable decision from the start: every piece in our collection must be 100% lead-free, non-toxic, and food-safe.
We worked with our artisan partners to transition entirely to modern food-safe glaze chemistry — without sacrificing the richness of colour that defines Moroccan ceramics. Safe to eat from. Safe to cook with. Built to last.

A Small Team. A Clear Vision.
MoroCan-Arts is not a large corporation. It is a co-founded venture built by two people in Fès who believed that Moroccan craft deserved a global platform built on honesty — honest sourcing, honest pricing, and honest curation.
We handle everything: the sourcing conversations with craftsmen, the quality control, the photography, the logistics coordination with DHL, the website, and every client relationship. That closeness to the product is what keeps our standard high.
Our goal is not to become the biggest Moroccan ceramics seller. It is to become the most trusted one. We would rather offer 46 rigorously selected pieces than 500 generic ones.
We started with B2B — supplying French hotels and restaurants — because if professionals would stake their table settings on our ceramics, it would prove a standard that retail customers could trust. That proof exists now. The archive is open.
"We do not sell pottery. We sell the certainty that what you receive is exactly what we say it is — made by the hands we say made it, from the earth we say it came from."
